You sure assume a lot about me from this single, solitary comment. And if I may be so bold, you do so completely via assertion, and sans argument.
Aren’t we just the pot calling the kettle black?
For the record, it is entirely possible to applaud someone’s assertions, regardless of whether one is in total agreement with that person or not. It is possible to agree with many details of our nation’s failures without agreeing on why they have occurred or how to fix them.
I personally don’t believe the solution is anywhere nearly as simple as an economic or political overhaul. Our sickness is beyond politics or money. Mistaking religion for spirituality plays a big part. Equating financial worth with inherent worth plays another. Treating “getting away with murder” the same as innocence. Believing that a “nice” person is the same as a “good” person. Treating others the way they treat us, instead of as we would like to be treated.
Yes. I am making assertions in this response, it’s true. And to you, they probably seem naive and elementary. Too broad, maybe. Like ridiculous, idealistic hope for impossible changes. It is 2am and I’m far too tired to give specific, attributed examples of these things.
But I can another day if that makes a difference to you.
I doubt it would matter.
