Yes. I am speaking to belief systems here, and not to whether they’re right or wrong factually, because clearly, the facts are not determining what many people believe. But if we don’t listen, how are we to successfully refute, using facts? And if we don’t listen, how do we address the reasons behind the beliefs? People are far more complicated than facts and clearly, regardless of how outlandish or improbable or hateful or hurtful a person’s beliefs are, presenting them with facts doesn’t seem to be enough to get through. Psychology has to be considered.
