yes, but if you look throughout history, there is not a particular religion with a monopoly on violence. that is what that quote means. not that religious ideology (or social class, or political party, or race) is never violent, because OF COURSE violence occurs within all of those constructs; just that it is not possible to say that except for “insert religion", religion is without violence. There are always outliers; there are no shortage of female murderers. the stats are just vastly different for men vs women. maybe catholicism looks less violent than Islam to some. probably not to someone who has been raped by his priest. and there has been and continues to be bloodshed and hatred widespread in christianity today.

what the quote is saying is that regardless of ideology, race, social standing, political affiliation, etc., the grand majority of violence is committed by males. across the board.
