Yeah. I addressed this on Thursday…that not only do we not have final say in who our children choose to model themselves after (though one would hope we do have SOME influence), there comes a point where kids/teens choose their role models SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE they know we won’t approve.

It happens to varying degrees, of course. But saying that a person, who won the votes of around half of those who voted in the last election, has no claim to the status of role model unless I endorse him as such is blatantly preposterous. Half of their friends at school have parents who CHOSE him to be a role model (because how is the POTUS NOT intended to influence the youth of America?).

And do you know whose opinions my 14 year-old daughter cares about?

Hint: Her father and I don’t even make the cut.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
