Um. The Beast LITERALLY imprisons Belle. Until she figures out her 'place’, imprisons her in HER ROOM.

Pretty much kidnapping has always been outlawed.
The problem with stories like B and the B is the way they indoctrinate children to see this sort of love story as romantic rather than abjectly criminal in nature.
