This is not what i said (or if I did, it’s not exactly what I meant). i said it is part of being female. that may be something taught to me, or it may be something taught to my brother. you may have escaped the heft of it, but you may date a man who did not and in that way be touched by it. i just meant that “rape culture” is really just “CULTURE”. everyone has had a different unique experience, but the collective experience has ended us up here, at odds, warring genders, attacking men trying to understand, for god’s sake, seeing the enemy as a gender rather than as an ATTITUDE. A pervasive attitude that some people have that “I GET WHAT I WANT MY NEEDS MUST BE MET WHAT YOU WANT DOESN”T MATTER” and another attitude that “I AM NOT TO BLAME BECAUSE I…”
you do a shitty deed, you should pay the piper. you choose to do something, it’s on you. someone else chooses it for you, then we have something to discuss regarding blame.
i hate even bringing this up, though, because to some women it feels like a betrayal and IT IS NOT.
Rape is worse than death.
and i hate rapists.
i just think we have to be really careful when we define someone that way, because wherever two people intersect, there are two sides to two stories.
some (unconscious girl behind a dumpster, in my opinion) are easy to see
