This is beautiful. I really hope more people read it, these are words that deserve to be read.
I, of course, didn’t know the woman. But I watched the Superman movies voraciously as a child; they were a bonding event for me and my own complex parent. And on November 30 of this year (2018), when the earth shook hard enough to form crevasses in my Anchorage, Alaska highways, knocking all of my most precious possessions to the floor where they lay broken in pieces, I flashed back to Lois Lane, buried in her car, her death so painful for Superman to behold that he rewound the whole world just to bring her back.
