Thank you, Alto. :) The truth is that I carried this around with me for a few years, feeling so terrible and worried that I’d scarred him forever, but not too long ago I raised the issue with him, just to see where he was regarding carrying around that burden for so long.

He wasn’t sure to what I was referring. I had to prompt him before he remembered. And he said, “Oh, nah. I’m fine, Mom.”

Apparently, back when he told me and I reassured him that wasn’t the case AT. ALL. , he was able to let it go.

Not so me, clearly.

Look at me, all ready to pick up that load of guilt and regret and lug it around for a few more years.

Ugh. We can all learn a lot from the way kids do life.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
