Speaking of reading, what do your kids like you to read to them? My kids were both huge Neil Gaiman fans from early on, because their dad is (as am I, but i’m embarrassed to say, before I met my ex-husband I’d never heard of him). Coraline came out a few weeks before my daughter was born and we read it to her when she nursed (muah hahahaha evil laugh). She says it’s probably why she has such a dark sense of humor. We all know that’s rubbish. She gets it from her dad.

Both loved The Wolves in the Walls and The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish. Alex just read Fortunately, the Milk for BOTB this year, and Alaina finally grew into her first-edition signed copy of The Graveyard Book (dad’s a superfan. did i mention that?).

They read other stuff, too. ;)

Reading to my kids=by far the best time investment I’ve made as a parent, hands down.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
