She screwed up, like dope fiends do, until they either don’t or they die. It’s a sad truth but it’s the truth. So, moving forward we act with a little more skepticism, but there is no reason to demonize her. She’s just a person. And as for the donations, she has a 3rd party overseeing those through GoFundMe. They cannot go anywhere but to her landlord. She sent me the paperwork to prove this. So whether she’s actively sober or still using, she’s not using our money.
and if she’s just an addict who is struggling, i believe that to shut her out is cruel. i understand if individual people don’t feel interacting with her to be in their best interests and I am all for setting boundaries and keeping ourselves safe. but that can be done quietly, without public humiliation. Without beating any dead horses (dead horses HATE to be beaten).
