Oh, there is just one more really important thing to remember about these first months:

Right now, your baby is the easiest to take out of the house that he will EVER be. He can cry or poop, sure. But more often than not, he will probably sleep. So take your wife to dinner, go on long walks together, have a picnic, go shopping…try to keep doing the things you did before kids as much as you can. Because once he starts crawling, all bets are off. And if you have another, it won’t be like this because you’ll have the sleepy baby but you’ll be carting her around while trying not to lose track of your toddler Houdini.

I know it doesn’t seem that way when you’re still feeling the stress of just being able to get out of the house at all, but these really are the easy days, in terms of portability.

But don’t worry, once he’s mobile you’ll be able to keep up because you’ll be getting a lot more sleep. ☺

Trade offs.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
