NO, Julia B, you weren’t a “good kid”,

you were a “GOOD GIRL”. And they’re not the same thing. I know, because I was one, too.

Nice girls; good girls…we don’t cause problems by doing things like telling on the boy at school who keeps sliding his hand into your bra in chem lab…or asking the football team to stop calling you “DSL” and asking when they get a piece of those lips as they cup your crotch in the hallway and their friends waggle their tongues at you between “V”d out fingers. Not only don’t we ask them to stop, we don’t act like it bothers us at all. AND we laugh right along with them. Because we don’t want to make a public scene, it’s true. but we also don’t want to be perceived as unapproachable, or bitchy, or scared. We especially don’t want to seem scared.

I shouldn’t say we, sorry. But this was definitely my experience. :)

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
