No. I don’t think there would be anything ethical about requiring a writer to pay into the pot that is paying him unless it was by chance. I am a member of the writing co-op and I could choose to become a paying member or not but whether or not I did that wouldn’t be related to whether a piece I submit got chosen for the paid content area.
