On bartering, I like the idea in general. It would, if it caught on, require changes in how governments tax considering there would be no income tax or sales tax collected on those transactions. One good thing about it is that no value is pulled out of the transaction.
My 9 year old told me yesterday that when he grows up he’s going to bring back the barter system so people who don’t have money can still buy stuff they need.
It’s not a complete plan by any means, but thoughts have to start somewhere. He’s such a cool kid. ☺
We had been talking about a community that had done that-created a local “barter” currency and existed independently of the larger economy because the people who lived there had basically become destitute trying to exist within it.
They were thriving now.
I think it’s definitely an idea worth exploring.
