Me now almost completely detests this movie, but me then adored it, for all the wrong reasons. You have touched on those here. Ugh, right?
However, it’s funny. There are two quotes that didn’t mean shit to me then, yet they are the words that for some reason have stuck with me all these years, and they are the words that have come to illustrate the theme most like my life.
Cuba (Rod) to Brainwashed, Cult-addled pretty boy--seriously, I can’t even type his name-- (Jerry):
1.Single mothers don’t date. They’ve been to the circus. They’ve been to the puppet show, and they’ve seen the strings…2.A single mother is a sacred thing.
Man, is it ever the truth!
I also don’t hate
“A human head weighs eight pounds.”
Lol.
(Except when it’s full of Scientology and its own hubris. That’s more like 30 lbs.)
