Man, I don’t know. Reading your rundown of her career, I find her strategy pretty freaking genius.

Played a little politics to make a name for herself, then once her name had some clout, used it to cross her audience over into the narrative she wanted to create.

Should she have had to jump through those hoops to get to where she is? Fuck, no. But if she hadn’t created Grey’s; if instead she broke out with Audra McDonald and Private Practice (and I just gotta interject myownself here to say how badass is Audra McDonald, for real? Damn. I bow. )

The storyline wasn’t as strong. Who knows? It had a slow burn to it that snuck up on you. Maybe Scandal would have hit hard like Grey’s. It is crazy good. But if Rhimes followed a personal plan to maximize her reach, she did a damned fine job of it.

I’m impressed as hell. ☺
