Jennifer Brown mentioned the evolutionary nature of language. This is something I struggle with all the time.

The most difficult word evolution I’ve encountered was the addition of a new definition of the word literally, which means, literally,

NOT LITERALLY.

Agh. Every time I think I’ve accepted what I consider to be a perversion of the English language (which I’m convinced came to pass because someone in a position to change it got sick and tired of people accidentally misusing the word. So,rather than constantly trying to explain what the word meant, that person gave up and just up and changed the meaning instead), something like this post arises and launches me right back into frustration.

At least now, I can laugh about it.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
