Jay, my man, you speaketh the truth. I have a whole BOOK of things I was paying attention to that were so weird, or fabulous, or insightful, that i had to write them down immediately so as not to lose them. Now if I could just figure out a way to share them.

My 9 year old sat in my lap last night after an immensely long monologue very late (he hasn’t learned the art of summarization and he’s very wordy. Pair that with the fact that it’s important to him to get every word straight and correct, so he restarts A LOT; listening to him can be VERY taxing) and proceeded to tell me that I was the best mom in the world because I really, really listen to him and he knows that I think what he has to say is important.

Not many people treat kids as if their opinions are important, I think. But really, whose opinions are MORE important? They are our future. We should really pay attention to what they’re thinking. Our quality of life down the road literally depends on it.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
