BTW, my original point of reference was my mother, who has a master’s degree and spent 34 years teaching underprivileged mostly minority children and was a proud, card-carrying Democrat.
My dad rarely turned the television off, and exclusively tuned in to FOX. Mom hates TV but it must have seeped in osmotically because she HATED Obama (but couldn’t tell me why) , and thought Clinton was the devil incarnate and voted for Trump. I about fell over when she told me (I asked)…we don’t talk about politics anymore because she is so full of hatred that is basically fueled by hearsay and supposition. And my mother has always been a very intelligent, critical thinker.
I started noticing a lot of people in her demographic share her personal outlook…and it’s pretty ugly.
