…at it. I’m disheartened that so many here seem to believe it is such and paint it in such a manner. As I said, If I’m shot in a game in VR, it’s not “virtual murder”. I’f I get blown up in a VR war game I’m not going to compare it to that of a real soilder with real injury's. There is no crime here and the second we start trying to imply there is one (given this situation),…
I think that whether or not it would be considered assault under the current laws, the point here is intent. Getting shot or blown up are not accurate analogies to being harassed sexually in the game because those are intended/expected outcomes of the game. Having your ass grabbed is NOT.
And I don’t know what it is, either. All I know is that, once again, some asshole has decided it’s his God-given right to put his hands, virtual or not, somewhere on some woman without warning, or permission. Basically you’re saying (though you come across sympathetic) that ONCE AGAIN, yeah, girls, it sucks. It’s unpleasant. It’s sexual harassment and it has no place here. But some people are just going to be assholes so if you want to play, you’d better get used to shutting the hell up about it.
except that until we start making noise EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS and CALLING OUT EVERY MAN WHO TREATS US AS IF HE’S ENTITLED TO WHATEVER HE WANTS then IT IS NEVER GOING TO BE UNPLEASANT ENOUGH ON MEN TO MAKE THEM WANT TO PRACTICE A LITTLE GOD DAMNED SELF-CONTROL.
