I read this piece just now, just after my Saturday morning Button Poetry lineup, so I thought I’d share. I have to limit myself to two a week or I would just watch slam poetry all day long:

“Can you just talk about what it’s like to be a rose? How a rose is still a rose no matter what color it is? They’ll still call you pretty…for a rose. But can’t you just keep all your thorns?”

“Thousands of people are rooting on you, to say yes. This is for the woman who says no.”

They were both really good. ❤❤❤


I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
