I know it feels like torture now, but I promise you the day will come (FAST. IT WILL COME SO FAST) when you think back fondly to this book, and every word in it (some of which you will have forgotten, gasp!) as part of the best, and easiest dad/daughter bonding you ever (or will ever) had.

With my daughter, it was Goodnight Moon, and Finding Nemo (which I watched no fewer than a million times, I’m sure). I had both entirely memorized, and so did she.

My son had to hear (and see the motions) of The Itsy Bitsy Spider exactly 3x a night and be read You are My I Love You . (still my favorite children’s book of all time).

They are 16 and 12 now and you have no idea how I long for those simple, mind-numbingly repetitive and boring nights when it was them who so needed that time with me, instead of the other way around. They get busy, and the caterpillars eventually die of starvation.

Enjoy this. ❤

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
