We took a similar stance with my daughter, though it was in NO WAY as cool as yours.
Now my son is 10 and 'still believes’.
I’m 100% positive he knows more than he’s letting on.. He is just not ready to let go of the magic…the empty plate of cookies and half drunk milk in the morning.. The carrot greens left by the reindeer, and Santa’s footprints in the ash leading from the fireplace..
I think the OP had a bad experience, for sure. There are far less abrupt ways to spill the beans about Santa to your child…
But I feel a little bad for his boys, listening to all of the Santa talk at school, hearing the excitement in the other kids' voices, knowing Santa easnt going to be stopping by their house. And having to keep the secret from all their friends. Just sad.
