I can agree with the spirit of what you’re saying-- in that I think that Trump being completely uninformed and disinterested in becoming informed, and having no moral compass, and not giving a shit about it, and being completely self-serving, and unable to shoulder a single syllable of anything less than abject and adoring praise--has forced a substantial volume of the slimy underbelly of America to the surface--monsters we have ALL played a part in creating--and forced us to take a good, hard look at it, and then in the mirror, which will for some of us lead to valuable changes and important shifts in the overall climate of the country.

But I don’t in any way believe it’s what he meant to do.
