I am very proud to have inspired you to tell your story. Yes, it has taken me 14 years, but I can say now that I hated breastfeeding without any shame attached to the statement. It was difficult to get here, because as you say, this is something that is “supposed” to be completely natural…like if I were born on a nearly deserted island with no access to modern amenities or access to knowledge and was impregnated by some random other island dweller, having never been taught to care for a child, i would intuitively know to use my breasts to nourish said child, simply and perfectly, you know, because it’s so natural.

nothing NOTHING NOTHING i’ve ever done has felt quite as UNNATURAL to me as breastfeeding did. :)

and i’m totally okay with that.
