I am interested in what you said here about speaking up to shame the narcissist, though. In my experience, they wouldn’t feel any shame about their actions. Possibly humiliated by the ‘lies’ you’ve told about them, which would quickly be converted into vengeance and directed back at you.

This can be dangerous. It’s why I tell my story under a fake name on a platform full of strangers. I have to advocate no contact, working on healing yourself so you don’t fall victim to another narc in the future, but not worrying at all about showing the narc the error of his ways. Leave him in yesterday.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
