I agree with the no sweets (also, not a fan of bread and butters, which i feel like is just another name for sweet meant to trick us)…
About the pig’s feet, I never could eat them but my ex-husband made some authentic taco recipe when we were married that called for pigs feet but he used pickled pork hocks and that shit was DELICIOUS.
And i hate pickled herring because fish skin but i have some friends who jar pickled salmon up here much the same way except they freaking SKIN IT and it is ALSO delicious. Not at all the way you would expect it to be. Very firm fleshed…i always figured it would be chewy or mushy ugh. but no.
Basically i think that almost anything could be pickled, and the stuff that can’t should be stuffed into won ton wrappers and deep fried. Period.
