I agree with almost all of what you are saying, but I’m a little unclear on this passage. I have never known of a woman who willingly participated in a kiss (or any other intimate act, really), feminist or not, who equated that kiss (act) to a physical or sexual assault.

I am assuming that is not what you are referring to here, so the only other kind of exchange you could be implying would be an unwanted one. And we should ALL OF US have enough restraint not to go around kissing people who have given no indication that they would welcome such a gesture. I can’t think of any man I know who wouldn’t feel wronged if a woman he wasnt interested in kissing planted one on him anyway. Wouldn’t having someone’s foreign and uninvited saliva and/or tongue and/or bad breath suddenly thrust into your mouth feel like an assault to you?

Possibly you are referring to women taking an overly broad and literal interpretation of the definition of rape (as penetrative) and treating mouth to mouth penetration the same as, say, genital to mouth or genital to anal penetration, to which I see your point, but forcing a kiss is still assault, and still totally gross.

and I’m NOT a super-reactive woman. I’m pretty reasonable (I landed here because I was viewing an old response of my own, which I’m kind of laughing about after the Kavanaugh confirmation, because I’m super anti that guy. But not because of his behavior at 17.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
