Hey I had this giant response written out for you but I couldn’t get it to say what I was trying to say. I don’t want you to think I just disregarded your response, though. Thank you for providing this information. I don’t think I worded my comment very well. What I intended to convey was my frustration that everything comes down to math in the end, and by their nature, statistics , though they’re the best way we’ve got to analyze trends , tend to exclude important information at the level of the individual.
Where I live, there is a very pervasive and obvious discrepancy between the wages of men vs women in the same positions. A lot of those jobs are blue collar oilfield and commercial fishing jobs — traditional male roles — and I’m sure that plays a part. It may not make the cut when algorithmically figuring national wage gap data, but it is epidemic here.
