Have you ever looked at the complete set of Twitter permissions? A friend at work showed me Facebook’s the other day and I literally choked on my coffee. Because not only do they have full rights to basically do whatever the hell they want with my account (which I already kind of figured ), they can activate my Mic and record me WHENEVER. They can basically just randomly change all sorts of my personal information, my contacts…basically everything short of actively siphoning money from my bank account, though who the hell knows,
The part that infuriates me is not the invasive, nosy NSA type bullshit, though. The part that pisses me off is that I don’t have a choice, if I have an account and I have a phone. I’ve tried 9999 ways to take facebook off my phone and I DONT HAVE PERMISSION TO DO THAT. They can record me playing with myself, for God’s sake, but I don’t have the right to remove a FREE SERVICE from my fucking phone.
I have done all I can…I’ve uninstalled everything I can, but I can’t uninstall the basic app. I’ve turned it off, so to check my account I would have to do it through a browser, old school. I have logged out. I don’t delete my account because it’s the only way most of my family stays in touch, but I only use my computer for that (not that it’s any better).
But I can’t take it off.
What they, and Twitter, and Google are doing to compromise the privacy and rights of private citizens is unconscionable. And I have absolutely no problem believing they answer to people who are limited in this area by federal law…that it’s nothing but a giant workaround…a loophole. Because who knows loopholes better than Uncle Sam?
But what do we do?
