For what it’s worth, if you have just finished mansplaining to someone — admitting you were aware you were going to do so, but that you did so anyway, prefacing THAT confession with an after-the-fact apology…
Probably worse than the mansplaining you’re now explaining and apologizing for.
I don’t think you were doing that here; just seemed more like you were contributing to a conversation.
Mansplaining implies telling a woman stuff about her life, her life experiences, herself, that she clearly would know better than you would. Its often then followed ( if she disagrees with what you say) by you arguing with her about details of HER experiences as if she wasn’t there to experience them herself and you were.
I’m sorry someone accused you of that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do that.
