First of all, I never said they were angry that she was black. I said they were angry she was playing God. Be it the fact that she was female, black and female, not who they picture God to be…that I cannot know. What I find interesting is that the character (in the book; I’ve not seen the movie) plainly explains that it is appearing the way it is in order to provide the main character a challenge to his own personal idea of God, because he perceives God to be a)male and b) vengeful. And he has daddy issues. So, the reason for the skin God wears in this book (because can’t God appear as anything? Isn’t that well documented in the Bible?) is to reach a specific person. The book never asserts that God is in actuality female (or male), or black (or white).

But you wanted links so here you go. And btw you DO realize this was written 9 weeks ago, right? It’s in pretty poor taste to stir up a bunch of negativity surrounding a two month old post that is more than likely long forgotten.

So, thanks for that.

It’s really mostly one dude squawking the loudest, and this is as far as i’m going to go with this. I’m sorry that on April 27th you found something I said on February 22nd offensive. But i so do not have the time for this right now. So thank you for your input, I wish you well.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want it to be spelled right and punctuated correctly. I guess that’s something.
