First, I have to wonder how many of your readers are too young to fully appreciate your brilliance.
Meh. More for me.
Second, you left out the actor of MY nightmares, which I guess, since you’re neither writing about me nor do you know me, is a forgivable sin. Still, I feel compelled to add:
Until I was about 25, I had a recurring nightmare wherein a small boy was coming up through the floorboards of my room. He was under water, eyes dead and open…God I’m literally goosebumpy from even typing that.
Anyway I would wake up all sweaty and heavy-breathing…not the good kind…and I couldn’t figure out why I kept dreaming about that damned kid.
Until I saw an edited for tv movie called THE CHANGELING (no Angelina jolie anywhere near this movie) and flashed back to like 1979-1980 , in the backseat of my parent’s car parked at the drive-in, where I was supposed to be sleeping but instead sat dead silent and wide-eyed as a ghost boy literally brought down the house in a fit of revenge.
But the ghost boy was not the scariest part of this movie. Nay, that honor went to protagonist GEORGE C. SCOTT and his creepy fucking lazy eye.
I’ll end with another Drew Barrymore and/or Stephen King classic: Firestarter.
I mean, Nicholson’s got NOTHIN' on that Scott character.
