I think your kid has unlocked the vault with this “regular guy” idea (my son, at 3 1/2, stuck his hand out and said, “Uh…mom? A subtle distinction between the two…the first (external) focuses on acquiring, which implies “more”. The more you can get, the happier you are. The second (internal) focuses on choosing not to base our happiness on things that can be taken away.
