Answer me this (as I couldn’t bear watching beyond season 2 and havent read the books):

If the plan for gen 1 of Gilead is for the Handmaids to have children for the barren HAVES of the nation, who is supposed to have children for THOSE children? Or become the Marthas, or the bitchy drill sergeant women whose names escape me at the moment? SURELY these “parents" don’t intend “their" little precious pumpkins will grow up to be the help. And yet they arent allowing the help to breed…

I know, these kids should be fertile etc. So maybe handmaids wont be necessary. But certainly the chosen dont expect to have to cook and clean toilets and shop for groceries. Doesnt seem all that well thought out to me.
