Ezinne has always had a strong voice, but my impression regarding her recent work is that it has become less an emotional, off-the-cuff reactionary voice (though I can’t say her reactions were anything other than on point before) and even more a voice of clarity and an insight born of facts braided with experience.

She’s damned difficult to refute-something I’ve learned as she’s taught me about my inborn privilege in spades. Because it is still my nature to want what she says not to be true. But try as I might, I haven’t been able to deny her words yet. Here and there I don’t see quite eye-to-eye with her, but by and large, either she’s speaking what I know to be true, or she sufficiently convinces me of what’s real by the end.
